Herren House is a special place combining Victorian charm with a casual country cottage feel. This unique 19th century boarding house has been completely restored and offers all the modern conveniences that will make your stay comfortable. It has a beautiful garden area with a gazebo looking out over the surrounding mountains and a huge old-fashioned wrap around porch, perfect for quiet relaxation or socializing with friends and other guests.
Spend an afternoon sipping refreshments in the rockers on the spacious wraparound porches, or in the gazebo or gardens. Stroll down Main Street (just one block away) and peek into the interesting shops and galleries. Games, puzzles and plenty of books are available for quiet evenings. Wake up to freshly brewed Herren House blend coffee and a sumptuous breakfast each morning.
You can't have a great bed and breakfast inn without a great breakfast. At Herren House, breakfast is exceptional, complete with soft music, hand-ironed linens, fine china, casual conversation and candlelight.
Breakfast always begins with coffee, tea, juice and fresh seasonal fruit. A special part of breakfast is one of several varieties of homemade chicken sausage, like Michigan dried cherry and toasted almond, sweet apple or sun-dried tomato with pine nuts.
Each of the six beautifully decorated guest rooms is named for a member of the Herren family.
