Ideally situated in downtown Chicago's trendy Lincoln Park, on a quiet block with large mature trees, The Centennial Houses are surprisingly convenient to all of the city's attractions, major expressways and public transportation.
Choose from two large complete apartments or one suite at The Altgeld House Apartments or individual guestrooms at The Hansen House Mansion.
Built in 1891, The Altgeld House Apartments contains two complete self-contained vintage apartments, each recently updated to include all modern amenities, and then furnished with many 19th century European antiques and fine reproductions.
"Elizabeth's Place" can sleep up to five guests, and "Alice's Annex" can house up to seven.
Either apartment invites the business or leisure traveler to feel right at home, and both units can be combined for large groups. Please note that the building is strictly nonsmoking, although ashtrays may be provided on the verandah or deck.
For one or two guests to enjoy an economical visit but still be in the same fantastic location, we offer "Kristina's Room", a private suite within our apartment.

The Altgeld House Apartments is ideally located in the heart of Lincoln Park, Chicago's wealthiest neighborhood. It's a pleasure to stroll around at any hour admiring the magnificent homes, visiting the interesting and upscale shops, lazing in the nearby parks or enjoying the myriad restaurants and music venues. Be sure to ask your host for suggestions on the many nearby attractions.
The Hansen House Mansion...
Nestled in downtown's bustling Lincoln Park on a quiet block of magnificent grand 19th century homes, this 1886 mansion was built by famed architect Harold Hansen for his own family. The Hansen House Mansion has retained most of its original gracious Victorian details, and has been lovingly decorated with many fine Victorian antiques.
It is convenient to many city attractions -- just steps from Lincoln Park and Second City -- as well as major expressways and public transportation for easy access to both airports or all other city attractions.
Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a gala family event, a quiet business stay or a special meeting, The Hansen House Mansion offers the perfect setting. For your convenience, we are open year-round.
