Property Description: The Qupqugiaq Inn is a great lodging choice while staying in Anchorage, Alaska! The Inn has twenty-five rooms, the architecture is remarkable, full of flowing curves, organic materials, and a high level of craftsmanship. We hope that this artistry expresses a spirit of care that you will enjoy during your stay with us. We are wrapping up a major remodeling project, and you will now find many new amenities, such as beds (with a sun, star and moon motif) that we have designed. Twelve rooms have private bathrooms. The Qupqugiaq Inn is located in midtown, about 2 miles from downtown, and 2 miles from the airport. Other features of Qupqugiaq include: - Phones with voice mail in all rooms. - A computer with free internet access is located in the common area. Free high speed internet access in all rooms. Unlimited use with your computer (you will need a network card to connect). - A large dining and conversation room, and a full kitchen available for guests. - Satellite TV includes specialty channels such as HBO, Sci-Fi, and Discovery. Rooms have 25" or 27" color TVs. - Downstairs is Istanbul Cafe, open daily and serving authentic Turkish food. Non-smoking and no alcohol. The building is full of asymmetric organic curves and unusual spaces. The oak was steamed to make it bend; the walls flow to follow the shapes of the wood and tile. We wanted to create a space which would reflect the fact that something unusual--something not based on our normal linear, mechanical attitude--is going on inside. The Qupqugiaq Inn is a great place to get oriented when coming to Alaska. Policies - A deposit of $15 per night per room reserved is required. This fee is non-refundable, but it is credited to your rent. The remainder of the rent will be charged on noon on the day of your reservation. After that time the whole amount is non-refundable.
